Chapter 20

Walking down the stairs, Shehnaaz tried to physically greet everyone, but her heart was heavy, and her mind was trapped in the memory of those intense eyes that had pierced through her in her room. She had seen the pain in Sidharth’s eyes, the way they seemed frozen in time, unable to move past the hurt she had inflicted. And then, she saw him descending the stairs, looking like a man whose soul had been shattered. His movements were slow, almost robotic, as if life itself had been drained from him. She knew deep inside that she had hurt him more than words could express, and she could feel the anger boiling within him, ready to erupt at any moment.

Sidharth stood in one corner of the room, completely immune to everything around him. His eyes were bloodshot, and his face was devoid of any emotion. He felt disconnected from reality, his mind stuck in a loop of disbelief and pain, while his body trembled with the overwhelming emotions he couldn’t control. Khushi, who was observing him closely, noticed the drastic change in his expressions, her concern for him deepening.

Daarji, noticing Sidharth coming down from Shehnaaz’s room, glared at Shehnaaz with disapproval. Shehnaaz immediately lowered her gaze, feeling the weight of his judgment pressing down on her.

Shehnaaz and Sukhveer were asked to sit next to each other, a formality that felt like a death sentence to her. As all the relatives from the Gill family, Sukhveer’s family, and the Shukla family gathered around, they made the decision to go ahead with the Roka ceremony of Shehnaaz and Sukhveer.

The moment those words were spoken, it felt as if the ground had slipped out from beneath Shehnaaz’s feet. The world around her blurred as everyone started congratulating each other, but she felt utterly disconnected from it all. Tears welled up in her eyes despite her desperate attempts to hold them back. Her throat tightened with the pain that was tearing her apart from the inside. Her eyes instinctively sought out Sidharth, who stood frozen in a corner, staring into the void. He looked like a dead man standing—his entire being a picture of devastation. She could see the immense pain he was in, a pain that mirrored her own. She knew how possessive he was of her, how the very thought of someone else even looking at her made his blood boil. And now, his worst nightmare was unfolding before his very eyes—her marriage being arranged with someone else.

Sidharth couldn’t bear it. He was utterly shattered, frozen in his spot, unable to process the reality of what was happening. His mind was spinning in disbelief. What is happening? he thought, his mind refusing to accept the truth. How could Shehnaaz say yes to marry someone else? How could this be possible? Why would she do this?

His thoughts spiraled into confusion and pain. She loves me… she confessed her love to me… we shared moments together, moments that were filled with love and passion. How could she just say yes to someone else? Was her love a lie? He shook his head, rejecting that thought immediately. No, that can’t be true. I saw the love in her eyes… I noticed the pain in her eyes ever since I came here…

He felt a surge of anger at the thought of her being with someone else. I can’t stand the sight of her beside another man. The urge to punch Sukhveer in the face and throw him away from Shehnaaz was overwhelming. This can’t be happening… Shehnaaz can’t betray me, can she?

His heart ached with every beat, the pain intensifying with each passing second. I have to talk to her, he resolved, his heart throbbing in agony. I can’t let this happen. Shehnaaz is mine… I know she loves me… I won’t let anyone take her away from me…

His mind was a storm of possessiveness and despair. She belongs to me… only to me… He looked around the room, filled with an intense hatred for everything and everyone in it, except for her. Unknown to him, tears had filled his eyes, turning them a bright red as they found their way to Shehnaaz, who was already looking at him, her own eyes brimming with tears.

Her eyes reflected a mix of love and guilt, a combination that confused and hurt him even more. If she loves me, what made her take this stupid step? Why didn’t she talk to me first? What the hell was she expecting me to do? His mind screamed in anguish. Clap for her Roka?

His emotions were a whirlwind of love and betrayal. You’ve made a mockery of my love, Shehnaaz. I know you love me, but I will never forgive you for this. His resolve hardened as he made a vow to himself. I will make sure you confess your love to me, that you beg me to forgive you. You don’t know the extent of your Sidharth’s possessiveness for you.

His decision made, Sidharth turned on his heel and walked out of the room, his heart crying out in silent agony. Khushi followed him, deeply concerned for the man she had just seen crumble before her eyes.

hehnaaz’s heart sank as she watched Sidharth walk away, each step he took tearing her apart. She felt an overwhelming urge to run after him, to throw herself into his arms, and to beg for his forgiveness. She had hurt him so deeply, and the weight of that guilt was crushing her. Desperately, she glanced around, trying to keep her tears in check, but it was a losing battle.

Payal’s eyes were glued to Shehnaaz, her concern growing with every passing second. Something was definitely wrong with her sister. Earlier, she had dismissed Shehnaaz’s odd behavior as simple pre-wedding jitters, but now, seeing the pain etched on her face, Payal knew it was something much more serious. What could be causing Shehnaaz so much distress? she wondered, her worry deepening.

“Sidharth… stop… Sidharth!” Khushi’s voice echoed through the hallway as she ran after him, her heart pounding with fear for what he might do in his current state.

Shehnaaz’s heart broke a little more as she saw Khushi chase after Sidharth. What must he be thinking of me now? she wondered, her mind racing with anxiety. He must think I’m a liar, that I’ve betrayed him. He must be so hurt… Why is all of this happening? Sidharth, please come back. Please, take your Naaz away from all this mess… I’m so sorry for hurting you, Sidharth, but I’m trapped—I have no other choice.

She yearned to run after him, to hold him close, to feel his strong arms around her once again. She imagined him embracing her tightly, his frustration and anguish reflecting in every movement. He was her Sidharth, and she couldn’t imagine life without him.

The thought of living without him was unbearable. I can’t live without him.. The idea of anyone else being close to her was repulsive. Only Sidharth could be that close to her. “Mujhe maaf kar dena, Sidharth,” she whispered to herself, her voice trembling with sorrow. I’ve made my decision. Once Payal di’s wedding is over, I’ll put an end to all this mess, and all the pain that comes with it. Shehnaaz felt a strange sense of calm wash over her as she resolved to end her suffering, but deep down, the despair lingered, gnawing at her soul.

“It’s not possible for me to live without you,” Shehnaaz thought to herself, her heart heavy with sorrow. “Tum humesha khush rehna, Sidharth… move on in your life and always remember that I belonged to only you.”

Shehnaaz felt like she was dying inside, her emotions in turmoil, but her face betrayed none of it. Her expression was void of any visible tears, as if her grief had drained her completely.

Payal, who had been observing her sister closely, grew increasingly restless. Something was wrong—terribly wrong. There was no trace of happiness on Shehnaaz’s face, and it struck Payal like a bolt of lightning. “Is Shehnaaz not happy?” she wondered, a deep sense of guilt washing over her. “How could I have been so careless? I never even asked her if she was happy with all this… I have to talk to her..”

Determined to get to the bottom of what was troubling Shehnaaz, Payal resolved to speak with her as soon as possible, hoping to ease whatever burden her sister was carrying.

_______________

Sidharth was storming away when Khushi caught up to him, her concern evident in her eyes. His back was to her, but she could see the redness in his eyes, a telltale sign of the tears he was trying to hide.

“Sidharth, what happened? Are you alright?” Khushi asked, her voice soft but laced with worry.

He didn’t turn to face her. “Yes… I’m fine. I have an important call to attend to. You should go back inside, Khush,” he replied, his voice strained and distant.

Khushi wasn’t convinced. “Sidharth, don’t lie to me. I know this has something to do with Shehnaaz,” she finally said, her words coming out sharper than she intended.

Sidharth stopped in his tracks, unsure whether to trust her with the truth. But when he turned and saw the concern in her eyes, he knew she had already seen through him.

Khushi sighed, trying to be gentle. “Sidharth, I saw Shehnaaz’s picture under your pillow. You can’t hide your feelings from me.”

Sidharth let out a long, tired sigh, his shoulders slumping as if the weight of the world was pressing down on him. “It’s over, Khush. I’ve been betrayed… badly.”

Khushi shook her head, refusing to accept his despair. “I don’t know what’s really going on, but Shehnaaz doesn’t look happy with all this either. Something’s not right.”

Sidharth’s pain was evident as he groaned, “I know she loves me. But why is she doing this? Does she enjoy watching me fall apart?”

Khushi could see his anguish, but she also knew Sidharth’s stubborn nature. “You should talk to her, Sidharth, before jumping to conclusions. There might be more to this than you realize.”

A flash of determination crossed Sidharth’s face, hardening into resolve. “She’s mine, Khush. She will come back to me. I’ll make sure of it. She’ll have to face the consequences of hurting me.”

Khushi knew there was no stopping him when he got like this, but she still tried to reach him. “Do whatever you need to, but don’t let your anger blind you. She seems as hurt as you are, Sidharth. Don’t overlook that.”

Their eyes met, and in that moment, Khushi knew that Sidharth was beyond reason. She gave him a nod, silently conveying her understanding, and then turned to head back inside.

As she walked away, tears welled up in Khushi’s eyes. She didn’t want to see Sidharth go through the kind of heartbreak she had endured—loving someone who could never love her back. It pained her to see him hurting, and she silently prayed that things would somehow work out for him, even if it meant facing the storm that was surely coming.

As she made her way back inside, trying to keep her emotions in check, Karan suddenly caught her hand.

“Where were you? Don’t wander off… This place is new and unfamiliar,” he said, his voice tinged with concern.

Khushi pulled her hand away, her expression hardening. “I’m sure you wouldn’t be bothered either way,” she replied coldly, the hurt in her voice evident as she walked past him.

Karan sighed, watching her retreat. “I do care, Khushi… I just don’t know how to show it. Will you ever forgive me?” His voice was soft, almost pleading, but Khushi didn’t stop or turn back.

His words hung in the air, unanswered, as Khushi disappeared into the crowd. Karan was left standing there, feeling the weight of the distance between them—a distance he wasn’t sure how to bridge, or if he ever could.

______________

Sidharth walked back into the hall, his heart pounding with a mix of anger and sadness. He saw a lady applying kumkum to Sana’s bindi and holding out the Shagun, a traditional gesture for the occasion. Jasbeera ji was performing the same ritual for Sukhveer.

Sukhveer’s gaze was fixed as he watched Shehnaaz, his eyes filled with an unsettling admiration .

Sidharth’s emotions were reaching a boiling point. The anger and pain inside him were so intense that he could hardly contain them.

As he looked at Shehnaaz, he noticed the tears glistening in her eyes—a detail that escaped everyone else except Payal, who observed the scene with growing concern.

The sight of Shehnaaz’s tears cut through him like a knife, intensifying his sense of betrayal. “If you’re in pain, Jaan, then why go through with this?” he thought bitterly. “agar koi problem thi.. mujhse bat karti.. we would have solved it anyhow…but tum ne kisi aur se shadi ke liye haan kehdi aur mujhe batana bhi jaroori nahi smajha… tumne ye nahi socha.. mera kya hoga.. ke tumhara Sidharth kaise jiyega tumahre bina…kyu Shehnaaz.?”

Across the room, Shehnaaz’s heart was breaking with every passing moment. Her silent plea was filled with deep sorrow. “ja toh main rahi hun, Sidharth… bahut jald… but tumhe jeena hai humare pyar ke liye… mujhe maaf karde na Sidharth….” Her whispered words were an agonizing cry for forgiveness, a desperate attempt to make him understand her pain even as her own heart shattered.

_____________

The hall was alive with activity and cheer. Relatives mingled, chatting and laughing as they attended to the various rituals and preparations for the upcoming Haldi function of Abhi and Payal. The atmosphere was festive, with people dancing bhangra and kids engaged in their playful bickering.

Amidst the vibrant chaos, Neha Garewal, a family friend of Shehnaaz, had her gaze locked on Sidharth. She was captivated by his presence, unable to look away from his striking demeanor.

“Hey, handsome,” Neha said cheekily, breaking the intense eye contact between Sidharth and Shehnaaz. Her voice was playful, a hint of flirtation laced in her tone.

Sidharth noticed the change in Shehnaaz’s expression—her eyes narrowed and her face flushed with barely concealed anger.

“get ready to test your own medicine Naaz..”

He felt a surge of defiance and decided to respond to Neha’s advances with equal flair. “Hey, beautiful,” he said, his voice warm as he flashed a broad smile. “I’m Sidharth, and you are…?” He extended his hand toward her, inviting her to shake hands.

Neha, clearly thrilled, eagerly placed her hand in his. “Neha,” she introduced herself, her voice tinged with excitement.

“Beautiful name, just like you,” Sidharth remarked smoothly. With a playful glint in his eye, he lifted her hand to his lips and pressed a gentle kiss on it.

The gesture was a deliberate display of charm, and it did not go unnoticed by Shehnaaz. Her heart felt like it was burning from the inside. Tears welled up in her eyes as she watched Sidharth interact with Neha. The sight of him being affectionate with someone else, right in front of her, was more than she could bear.

Sidharth’s actions felt like a betrayal, and Shehnaaz’s disbelief was palpable. She thought, “ Sidharth mere samne kisi aur ke sath… ? chhi” Her heart ached with a mixture of hurt and anger, the tears threatening to spill over as she tried to make sense of the painful scene unfolding before her.

Sidharth, despite the turmoil raging within him, managed to put on a smirk. He pulled Neha closer, placing a hand on her waist with a confident gesture. “Would you mind dancing with me, Neha?” he asked, his tone smooth yet carrying an edge of playful challenge.

Neha’s eyes sparkled with delight as she responded, “I would love to.” She readily stepped into the dance, and soon, they were gliding across the floor in a graceful salsa. Their movements were fluid and captivating, drawing the attention of everyone present. The crowd gathered, mesmerized by the beautiful dance.

Dadi maa watched her grandson with a proud smile, clapping along to the rhythm. Abhi, taken aback by this unexpected side of Sidharth, looked on with a mixture of surprise and admiration.

However, Daarji’s expression was one of disdain. He cast a disapproving glare at Sidharth, then turned his gaze toward Shehnaaz. His look seemed to confirm his previous reservations about Sidharth, reinforcing his belief that Sidharth was never a suitable match for Sana.

Payal’s attention was fixed on Shehnaaz. She observed with growing concern as Shehnaaz’s eyes remained locked on Sidharth. Shehnaaz’s tears were discreet but persistent, unnoticed by most but clearly visible to both Sidharth and Payal.

Sidharth, amidst the dance, kept casting furtive glances at Shehnaaz. He noticed her distress, which only deepened his inner conflict. Neha, enchanted by Sidharth’s charisma, was completely absorbed in the dance, unaware of the emotional dcrnr unfolding around her.

For Shehnaaz, the sight of Sidharth’s hand on Neha’s waist was a visceral blow. The intimacy of the gesture felt like a betrayal, and she couldn’t help but feel a surge of anger and hurt.

Shehnaaz’s emotions were a tempest of fury and sadness. She wanted to lash out, to confront Sidharth, to take him away from Neha. The thought of Sidharth with someone else, especially someone she considered a friend, was unbearable. She felt an intense urge to reclaim what she saw as hers, feeling a profound sense of betrayal and jealousy.

As the dance came to an end, Shehnaaz was on the brink of an emotional collapse. The finality of the moment hit her hard, especially as Sidharth placed a lingering peck on Neha’s cheek. To Shehnaaz, it felt like the last, unforgiving blow.

Her heart was breaking, and her eyes welled up with tears that she struggled to hold back. Unable to endure any more, Shehnaaz muttered a strained, “Excuse me…” and hurriedly made her way upstairs to her bedroom, her steps quick and desperate.

In the midst of the ongoing festivities, the crowd was oblivious to her distress. However, Payal noticed Sidharth’s departure from the hall, following Shehnaaz’s retreating form with concern.

_______________

Shehnaaz sat on the edge of the bed, her face buried in her hands, her sobs breaking through the silence of the room. Her heart was shattered, and her mind was clouded with anguish. “I hate you,” she choked out between tears. “I hate you… Aap ye sab jaan-bujhkar kar rahe hain na? Mujhe dard dene ke liye? Koi zaroorat nahi… Main abhi khud ko khatam kar deti hoon… Taaki sabki problems khatam ho jayein…”

Her hands trembled as she reached for the bottle of sleeping pills, determined to end her suffering. The bottle was cold and heavy in her grasp, a grim reminder of her desperate resolve. Just as she was about to lift it to her lips, a hand shot out from behind her and snatched it away.

The bottle clattered to the floor, its contents spilling out in a chaotic scatter. Sidharth had arrived in time, and his heart raced with a mix of fear and despair. Seeing Shehnaaz in such a state of distress was more than he could bear. He pulled her into his arms, his embrace fierce and protective. “Naaz,” he whispered through his own tears, his voice breaking with emotion.

His eyes were bloodshot, filled with tears that mirrored the pain she felt. If he had been even a second later… he couldn’t bear to think about it. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close, his heart aching with the fear of losing her.

Shehnaaz pushed against him, her cries of frustration and hurt piercing through the air. “Chhodo mujhe… Don’t touch me… I hate you…” She slapped him with the palms of her hands, her nails scraping against his chest, drawing blood. Each strike was a release of her pent-up pain, but Sidharth bore it all, his resolve unwavering.

Even as he winced from her blows, he continued to shower her face with soft, gentle kisses. His touch was a silent plea for forgiveness, a way to show her that his love for her was constant despite everything. His tears mingled with hers as he held her tighter, determined to comfort her even as she fought against him.

Sidharth’s emotions erupted as he forcefully kissed Shehnaaz’s forehead, her cheeks, and her nose, his actions desperate to stop her tears. His hands cupped her face, his touch tender yet urgent.

“Tune use chhuva,” she sobbed, her voice breaking as she cried like a baby. The pain in her words cut through him.

Determined to soothe her, Sidharth pressed his lips against hers in a fierce, passionate kiss. She bit down on his lips in anger, but he took it without complaint, knowing that her anger was a manifestation of her hurt. His heart ached at the thought of what she had almost done moments ago. She was his life, and the betrayal he felt seemed insignificant compared to his fear of losing her.

“I hate you… I hate you…” she cried out, her voice trembling with emotion.

Sidharth’s tears mingled with hers as he asked between kisses, his voice raw with desperation, “Kya karne ja rahi thi tum… kya karne ja rahi thi?” His heart was shattered by the realization of how close he came to losing her.

Shehnaaz bit his lip hard, trying to hurt him further, “Tune chhuva use… tu mera hai… I hate you…” Her anger was palpable, but so was her deep-seated pain.

“Naaz…” That was all he managed to utter before he kissed her lips hungrily, his desperation evident. He roughly wiped away the extra kumkum from her bindi, an act of reclaiming her from the chaos.

Her hands wrapped tightly around his neck, and his arms protective her waist, pulling her into him. He begged through their kiss, his voice a broken whisper, “Fir kabhi nahi karegi aisa tu… wada kar…” His heart was pleading with her to promise that she wouldn’t attempt to end her life again.

Shehnaaz’s tears flowed freely into his mouth as she clung to him, her grip tight. Sidharth’s groans were a mix of anguish and relief, his body trembling with the intensity of the moment. “Please meri jaan… bolna… nahi karegi na…” he implored, his hands caressing her back as he tried to calm his own racing heart.

He wanted to touch her in every way possible, not just to soothe his fear but to remind both of them of their bond and love. His touches were meant to reassure her and himself, a desperate attempt to ground them both amidst the emotional storm.

Shehnaaz’s breath caught as Sidharth became possessive, his touch firm yet intense. His lips brushed against her skin, and she felt a mix of emotions—pain, longing, and a deep connection.

Even though she was hurting, Shehnaaz didn’t stop him. The sight of Sidharth with someone else had made her realize how deeply she felt for him. She understood the anguish he must have felt, especially when she saw him with Sukhveer.

When Sidharth’s touch became firmer, Shehnaaz winced, knowing he was trying to show his claim over her. Despite the troubles with Daarji, she felt a profound bond with Sidharth, realising that she belonged to him.

“Sidharth…” she murmured, her voice a blend of pain and tenderness. As his lips continued to explore her skin, more of her to him.

Sidharth, overwhelmed by his feelings, held her close, expressing his desire to reaffirm their connection. His actions were driven by a deep need to show that she was his, and no one could come between them.

Shehnaaz, trying to catch her breath, looked at him with a mix of love and regret. She realized how much she had hurt him and felt remorseful for letting things get so complicated. She wished she had handled the situation differently, perhaps by speaking with Sidharth or Payal. Her regret was palpable, knowing she had caused Sidharth unnecessary pain.

Shehnaaz shuddered violently, her legs feeling too weak to support her. Desperately, she clung to Sidharth, pulling him close as if trying to merge with him. He wrapped her in his arms, holding her tightly and offering the comfort she so desperately needed.

Sidharth embraced her completely, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead. In that moment, he felt a profound sense of commitment. He was determined not to let her slip away from him, regardless of the obstacles. The thought of losing her was unbearable, and he was resolved to protect her at all costs.

As they held each other, Sidharth’s heart ached with the memory of her earlier distress. He couldn’t bear the thought of her trying to end her life, and he vowed never to let anything harm her. Even if she expressed anger or frustration, he would endure it all rather than see her in pain.

With tears in his eyes, Sidharth gently urged her to look into his eyes. “jab nahi bardasht kar sakti mujhe kisi aur ke sath… toh tumne kaise soch liya ki kisi aur ko tumhare sath bardasht kar lunga me.” His voice was a mix of sadness and earnestness, revealing the depth of his feelings.

Sidharth carefully lifted Shehnaaz and gently laid her on the bed. As she started to move away, a shyness overtaking her, he let his body close to hers, gently pressing down. Her breath caught as she felt his weight, a soft gasp escaping her lips. “Sidharth…” she murmured.

He looked at her with a mix of tenderness and frustration. “pata hai ke mere bina reh nahi sakti… toh ulti sidhi harkate kyu karti ho…? ” His voice was filled with both concern and a hint of exasperation.

Shehnaaz didn’t respond, her silence speaking volumes. Sidharth didn’t expect an answer; his question was more about expressing his own confusion and pain.

Sidharth’s breath gently brushed against her lips as he spoke, his voice filled with raw emotion. “Mar jaunga, Shehnaaz, tumhare bina… Ye Sidharth tumhara hai, Naaz. Nahi ji payega tumhare bina, meri jaan…”

Tears welled up in Shehnaaz’s eyes as she opened them to meet his gaze. Sidharth rested his head on her chest, closing his eyes to feel the comforting rhythm of her heartbeat.

Shehnaaz pulled him closer, hugging him tightly with a mix of shyness and relief, burying her face against him.

Sidharth, smiling, nuzzled his nose against the soft fabric of her clothing, making her shiver. “Tum meri thi, meri ho, aur sirf meri hi rahogi… Fix that in your thick head,” he murmured sternly.

Shehnaaz pouted at his last words, her voice trembling, “Tune us ladki ko…”

“Ab tumhare mote dimag mein kuch dalne ke liye thoda action jaruri tha, baby,” he chuckled softly, feeling a sense of relief. It warmed his heart to know that despite everything, his Naaz still loved him, and he was determined to make things right.

He was still visibly upset, and Shehnaaz knew it. She hugged him from behind, but he turned to glare at her, frustration evident in his eyes. “Ye sab kya ho raha hai… Tumhari himmat kaisi hui kisi aur ko haan kehne ki? Tumne mujhe kuch bataya kyun nahi itne din se?” he demanded.

“I am sorry…” she whispered through her tears.

Turning around, he gently wiped her tears away. “I don’t want to see you cry, Naaz,” he said firmly. He hate seeing her in tears and wanted to put an end to it.

“Ab batao.. mujhe sab kuch saaf saaf sunna hai.. aut tum janti ho, ye roka mujhe manzoor nahi hai. Tum sirf meri ho. Hum abhi jaake niche sabko batate hain. Main kisi se nahi darta,” Sidharth declared, holding her hand with determination.

“Nahi, Sidharth,” she said immediately, her eyes wide with fear.

“Kyuu?” Sidharth asked, realizing there was something she was afraid of.

“Wo…” Shehnaaz hesitated, but Sidharth gently placed his hand on her cheek, encouraging her to speak. “Daarji ko humare baare mein pata chal gaya tha. Par usse pehle hi unhone meri shadi Sukhveer ke saath fix kar di, bina kisi se pooche.”

“What?” Sidharth’s anger flared. “Main baat karta hun niche sabse.”

“Nahi, Sidharth,” Shehnaaz started crying again. “Daarji ne kaha hai ki agar maine Sukhveer se shadi ke liye mana kiya, toh woh… Payal di aur Abhi jiju ki shadi…” she trailed off in defeat.

Sidharth’s heart sank as he understood the situation completely. He hugged her tightly, realizing that Daarji was behind everything. It became clear why Shehnaaz had been avoiding him—she was under immense pressure.

“Tumne agar mujhe pehle bataya hota, toh hum kuch kar sakte the,” Sidharth said softly, trying to comfort her.

Shehnaaz looked at him with tearful, innocent eyes, making his heart ache. “Main dar gayi thi ki meri wajah se Payal di ki shadi mein kuch…”

He wiped away another layer of tears from her eyes and kissed her gently on her eyes, her cheeks, and then her lips. Finally, he pulled her back into his embrace. “Thik hai, bas… bas… baby, stop crying,” he said softly.

“Main tumse pyar karti hun, sirf tum chahiye,” she whispered, hugging him tightly like a child.

Cocooning her in his embrace, Sidharth whispered softly, “You are my baby. You will be with me for the rest of your life. Every moment, every day, every night is for me. Tum meri aaghosh mein rahogi hamesha. Koi bhi mujhe tumse juda nahi kar sakta… ek pal ke liye bhi nahi.”

Shehnaaz felt a sense of security in his words. She knew that when Sidharth made a promise, he would do everything in his power to make it come true. She trusted him beyond herself, knowing that his love for her was unwavering and absolute.
