Where every word breathes Love….

Chapter 38

Sidharth’s expression shifted into one of understanding, his face softening as he nodded slowly, feeling a sense of calm wash over him. His mother’s words carried a warmth that soothed his troubled thoughts.

“Agar tumhe Shehnaaz se kuchh kehna hai, toh bas uski aankhon me dekho… uske chehre ko padho… usse mehsoos karo… aur jo tumhe kehna hai, woh tum apne aap samajh jaoge,” Rita ji finished, gently ruffling Sidharth’s hair, her touch full of affection.

Sidharth couldn’t help but marvel at the simplicity yet depth of her wisdom. His mother had said something so profound, yet she delivered it with ease. She had lived through these experiences, understood the quiet language of love and connection. Just one glance at her son, and she knew what weighed on his heart. It amazed Sidharth how effortlessly she could read him, like an open book.

This is how we understand people, he thought. When words aren’t necessary because the eyes, the expressions, and the smallest gestures say it all. When silence becomes a conversation and the bond between two souls deepens without the need for explanations. That’s when you know—it’s something lasting.

It’s the way a mother knows what’s troubling her child just by looking at them, without needing to ask. It’s the way a husband senses his wife’s unspoken worries from the faintest change in her touch. It’s how a friend sits quietly beside you, offering their presence when you need them most, without demanding explanations. These are the relationships that blossom, the connections that stand the test of time.

Sidharth found himself speechless, yet again, as his mother’s simple wisdom left him reflecting deeply. How does she do this every time? He wondered. She understood things so clearly, so effortlessly. He couldn’t imagine what his life would’ve been like if his parents hadn’t been there for him, guiding him, supporting him through every storm.

Rita ji smiled softly, patting his cheek with the same tenderness she had shown him since childhood. Sidharth, overwhelmed with gratitude, held her hand tightly, his heart swelling with affection. He leaned forward and kissed her wrinkled palm gently, feeling a sense of comfort and peace.

The next moment, as the door opened, Jasbeera ji stood before him with a cute but annoyed expression on her face. She looked at Sidharth with mock frustration, her hands resting on her hips.

“Ab aaye ho tum!” she exclaimed, pretending to be upset that he had arrived late.

Sidharth couldn’t help but smile at her playful scolding. He stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her in a gentle hug. “Kya hua, maa?” he asked, amused but curious.

Jasbeera ji hugged Sidharth back, her voice filled with a playful frustration as she chided, “Is ladki ne pichhle ek ghante se mera dimag kharab kar diya… Sidharth abhi tak nahi aaye… Sidharth abhi tak nahi aaye… ek hi baat baar baar… aur phir muh fulakar chaldi gayi upar.”

Sidharth couldn’t help but chuckle as he listened to his mother’s complaint about his little troublemaker. He listened patiently, his heart filling with affection. He could picture Shehnaaz pouting and sulking, her innocent frustration making him smile. Jasbeera ji, despite her grumbling, smiled back at her son’s calm demeanor. She had been scared when she saw his anger on the wedding day. She knew how immature and innocent Shehnaaz could be, and for a brief moment, she had feared what his anger might mean for her daughter. But the way his love for Shehnaaz shone through in every little gesture left her speechless. It reassured her that no matter how angry he might get, his love for her would always be stronger.

“Maa… main baat karta hoon usse… aap pareshan mat ho,” Sidharth assured, giving his mother a comforting smile as he immediately started making his way upstairs to find Shehnaaz.

As he reached the room, he was relieved to find that the door wasn’t locked. He pushed it open quietly, not wanting to disturb her. As he stepped inside, his gaze softened at the sight before him. Shehnaaz, his adorable little firecracker, was sprawled on the bed, lying on her stomach. She was muttering something under her breath, though he couldn’t make out exactly what she was saying.

Sidharth couldn’t help but pause, just watching her. Her hair was messily spread over the pillow, her face half-buried in it, and she looked so cute even in her sulking. He could imagine her pouting and scolding him for being late, her words full of complaints, but all he could feel was a deep affection for her. He moved a little closer, trying to catch what she was blabbering about.

“Dekh rahe hain Babaji aap… itni der ho gayi… par abhi tak nahi aaye… abhi ye haal hai… toh shaadi ke baad toh woh mujhe bhav bhi nahi denge…”

Her playful comments about their future married life made Sidharth look at her with amused wonder. He bit down hard on his lip to stifle the giggle that threatened to escape. God, how he wanted to burst out laughing, but he couldn’t risk waking her just yet. She was blissfully unaware of his presence, and he was enjoying every second of her adorable sulking.

“Jaan, main shaam ko milne aaunga…” Shehnaaz mocked his voice, and Sidharth’s eyes widened in surprise at her newfound talent for mimicking him. She continued, still oblivious to his presence, “Aur abhi tak inki shaam nahi hui… main keh rahi hoon, agar yeh 15 minute mein nahi aaye na… toh toh…” She paused, seemingly trying to come up with the perfect punishment, and all he wanted in that moment was to pinch her cheek for being so irresistibly cute.

“Toh haan, main unse pure 60 minutes baat hi nahi karungi,” she declared, sounding all too serious about her plan. Sidharth smirked, knowing full well that she wouldn’t last even half that time without talking to him. She couldn’t stay mad for long, and he adored that about her.

Still, Shehnaaz continued with her thoughts, as if negotiating with herself. “Okay… 60 minutes thode zyada ho gaye na… umm, 30 minutes theek hai. Main unse baat nahi karungi… woh manayenge toh bhi nahi manungi,” she concluded, her voice firm but clearly uncertain.

At that point, Sidharth could no longer hold back. He burst out laughing, unable to contain his amusement any longer. The way she’d cut her own time limit in half was just too adorable.

Shehnaaz, hearing his sudden laughter, frowned in confusion. “Hey Babaji, aap has kyun rahe hain? Main sach mein naraz hoon!” she muttered, still unaware that it wasn’t Babaji laughing but Sidharth himself.

Before she could think any further, Shehnaaz felt a sudden weight on her back. Sidharth had playfully dropped himself on top of her, making her gasp in surprise as he gently pinned her down with his body. She wriggled under him, her heart skipping a beat at the sudden closeness.

“Aap kab aaye?” she asked, her voice soft, not needing to turn around to know who it was. Only Sidharth could be this close to her, invading her space in the most loving way.

Sidharth shifted slightly, making sure not to crush her completely. His head nestled into her hair as his familiar scent surrounded her, calming her instantly. His hands found hers, and their fingers intertwined naturally, as if they had always belonged that way. He let out a soft sigh, content to just stay like this for a moment longer, feeling her warmth beneath him.

“Jab tum meri complains kar rahi thi…” Sidharth mumbled into her hair, inhaling the sweet scent of her cologne.

Shehnaaz blushed slightly, feeling the warmth of his entire body resting on hers, but she decided to ignore it for a moment and frowned cutely. “Main koi complain nahi kar rahi thi… sach bol rahi thi. Mr. Shukla, you are late.”

Sidharth’s fingers gently caressed hers, making her shiver as he softly whispered near her ear, “Sorry, baby…”

Oh god, that was pure cheating. How can anyone be this cute, or rather, this smart? He knows exactly how to dissolve my anger. Now, after those sweet words, how am I supposed to stay mad at him? This is not fair…

Shehnaaz pouted and made a baby face. “Aap humesha aise hi karte hain?” she mumbled, trying hard to hold onto her anger, which seemed to be disappearing into thin air.

Sidharth rolled off her and landed beside her with a soft thump, noticing how her breathing had quickened. “Tum kabhi mujhse naraz nahi ho sakti… tumhe pata hai na?” he teased, his voice full of affection.

Shehnaaz pouted her lips again, this time crawling closer, seeking comfort in his arms. She nestled her head on his arm, which lay wide open for her, and tugged his other arm around her, cocooning herself in his embrace.

Sidharth held her close, his grip firm yet gentle, possessive in the way he pulled her against him as if he didn’t want even the air to come between them.

“Toh agar main kabhi sach mein gussa ho gayi… toh aap kya karenge?” she asked softly, her fingers playing with his, tracing the lines of his palm.

Sidharth’s breath was warm against Shehnaaz’s ear as he whispered, his voice deep and husky, “Agar tum sach mein gussa ho gayi…” He let the words hang in the air for a moment, his lips dangerously close to her ear. Shehnaaz felt a shiver run down her spine as Sidharth leaned even closer, the tension between them intensifying with each passing second. His lips brushed against her earlobe, making her gasp softly, a sound that escaped her lips without her even realizing it. “Toh… main… yun tumhare kareeb aake…” His voice dropped lower as he gently nibbled on her earlobe, sending a surge of warmth through her, leaving her dizzy with sensation.

The soft, involuntary moan that escaped her lips only seemed to encourage him further. Sidharth’s lips lingered possessively on her skin as he pressed a kiss on the very spot where he had nibbled, his touch tender yet full of intensity. “Yun tumhe satake…” He paused again, making sure she felt every word. “Phir tumhe pyar karunga… aur tum maan jaogi.” His voice, now filled with a teasing confidence, promised her more than just words.

But Shehnaaz was already lost in the whirlpool of emotions his touch had stirred inside her. She was barely aware of what he was saying. The world around her seemed to fade, and all that remained was Sidharth’s closeness, his warmth, the feel of his breath against her skin. “Sidharth…” she breathed out softly, her heart racing uncontrollably.

Just as he was about to lean in even closer, his hands moving to wrap around her, a sudden knock on the door startled them both. The bubble they had been cocooned in burst abruptly, pulling them back to reality. They quickly broke apart from the intimate position they were in, the sudden interruption catching them off guard.

Rajji’s voice came floating in, filled with her usual mischievous energy. “Jiju… aap roz Di se hi milenge ke kabhi sali ki taraf bhi dekhenge?” Her cheeky tone broke the tension in the air, leaving Sidharth unable to suppress a grin. She was always full of mischief, reminding him of a younger, more carefree version of Shehnaaz.

Sidharth glanced at Rajji, feeling a soft fondness grow in his chest. She had such a lively spirit, just like Shehnaaz, and it amused him how similar they were in their own ways. “Tu yahan kya kar rahi hai… tujhe padhai nahi karni?” Shehnaaz’s voice, tinged with annoyance, cut through the moment as she scolded Rajji for barging in at such an inconvenient time. The frustration of being interrupted was clear in her tone, but she tried to hide it behind her words.

Sidharth shook his head, amused by Shehnaaz’s attempt to be stern. He could feel the playful tension in the air but also understood that Mahi had become a little piece of his life now, just like Anu had. “Baby, kya kar rahi ho…? Mahi se aise baat mat karo,” he gently scolded Shehnaaz, his voice soft but firm. Over the past few visits, Mahi had effortlessly won a place in his heart, just as Anu had long ago. He knew how important these small moments of family were to Shehnaaz, even if she sometimes didn’t show it.

Shehnaaz rolled her eyes, clearly not in the mood to deal with Rajji’s antics or Sidharth’s gentle reprimands. She had been so caught up in the moment with Sidharth that this interruption left her feeling more than a little frustrated.

Mahi, on the other hand, beamed with excitement, clearly enjoying the little bit of attention she was getting from Sidharth. “Thank you, Jiju!” she exclaimed happily, bouncing on her toes before flopping onto the bed with an exaggerated leap. Her laughter filled the room, bringing a light-heartedness to the atmosphere that, just moments ago, had been heavy with tension.

“By the way, Jiju,” Mahi said with a mischievous smirk, “me abhi se bol rahi hun… fir mat kehna mene warn nahi kiya.” Her tone was teasing, but the look she gave Sidharth was serious, as if she were making a crucial point. “Aap ko insaan se nahi… shaitan se pyar hua hai… toh zara sambhal ke rehna…”

Sidharth’s lips twitched as he struggled to suppress a laugh. He found Mahi’s playful warning amusing, and he could barely contain his mirth. On the other hand, Shehnaaz’s eyes widened in surprise and disbelief. Her gaze fixed on Mahi with a mixture of frustration and exasperation.

“You are so gone… you know that,” Shehnaaz said, her voice tinged with a mock threat. She glared at Mahi, who was now grinning cheekily, clearly enjoying the stir she had created. Without waiting for Mahi’s reaction, Shehnaaz got up from the bed, her eyes locked onto Mahi with a fierce determination. Her intention was clear—she was ready to give Mahi a piece of her mind.

Mahi’s laughter rang out as she sprinted out of the room, clearly enjoying the playful chase she had provoked. Shehnaaz shook her head in exasperation, watching as Mahi disappeared around the corner.

Sidharth couldn’t help but chuckle at the scene. The whole exchange had been an amusing interruption, and he found himself smiling at Shehnaaz’s frustrated yet affectionate demeanor. As Shehnaaz returned to the bed, Sidharth pulled her closer, his arms wrapping around her gently. Shehnaaz, feeling his touch, settled comfortably on his lap, her bright smile making Sidharth’s heart skip a beat. “I missed you, jaan…” he murmured, his voice soft and sincere.

Shehnaaz’s pout was almost too adorable to resist. “Awehi miss you bolte hai… me apko call kar rahi thi… par aapka phone bhi nahi lag raha tha…” she said, her words tinged with playful annoyance. She felt a mix of relief and happiness as Sidharth was now here with her. The day had been long and filled with moments that made her wish for his presence.

Sidharth looked at her with genuine affection, his heart warming at her words. “Me ab aa gaya hun na tumhare paas… wo sab chhodo… aur batao… how was your day?” he asked, his concern evident in his voice. His question brought Shehnaaz back to the promise he had made, reminding her of the story he had yet to share.

Shehnaaz’s eyes lit up as she recalled his promise. She encircled her arms around his neck, leaning in close. “Din se yaad aaya… aap mujhe kuchh batane wale the… wo story ke bare me… chaliye batayiye…” she urged him, her voice carrying a hint of impatience mixed with eagerness. She was determined to hear the story he had promised, her curiosity piqued and her heart full of anticipation.

Sidharth’s laughter filled the space as he scooped Shehnaaz up into his arms, surprising her. Her eyes widened in a mix of shock and delight as she looked up at him. She couldn’t help but grin, the warmth of his touch and the playful sparkle in his eyes making her heart flutter.

With a gentle, teasing smile, Sidharth carried her toward the balcony. As he stepped outside, the soft glow of the setting sun bathed everything in a warm, golden hue. He brought her to the far end of the balcony, positioning her in the corner where they could both enjoy the view in privacy.

He wrapped his arms around her from behind, his embrace secure and comforting. His chin nestled into the crook of her neck, the closeness making them both feel as though the world outside had faded away. Together, they watched the sky transform into shades of deep red and orange as the sun dipped below the horizon, the day slipping into twilight.

The cool evening breeze swept over them, carrying with it the faint scent of blooming flowers. The gentle wind seemed to whisper through the air, adding to the serenity of the moment. They instinctively snuggled closer, their bodies fitting together as if they were made for each other. It was as if their very existence was drawn to find solace in one another’s presence.

Shehnaaz closed her eyes, allowing herself to fully relax into the comfort of Sidharth’s arms. She tilted her head slightly back, resting it against his chest. The steady rhythm of his heartbeat was a soothing lullaby, and the warmth of his body against hers was a comforting reassurance.

From his vantage point, Sidharth had a clear view of Shehnaaz’s face. The soft, serene expression she wore was illuminated by the fading light, her features gentle and at peace. Her beauty was magnified in these quiet moments, her face a canvas of tranquility and contentment.

Sidharth’s heart swelled with affection as he looked at her. The intimacy of their embrace and the peaceful silence of the evening made everything feel perfect. This was their time—free from distractions, where they could simply be together and cherish the simple, yet profound connection they shared.

Unknowingly, the words tumbled from Sidharth’s lips, each one a testament to his feelings. “Every moment my eyes fall on you… I fall in love with you again and again. My heart aches to spend every moment with you…”

As he spoke, Sidharth watched with a sense of wonder as the corners of Shehnaaz’s eyes crinkled and a gentle curve formed at the corners of her lips. He knew without needing words that she was smiling. The sight of her smile filled him with a deep, soothing satisfaction, as if her happiness was a balm to his own soul.

Her warmth seemed to envelop him completely. Sidharth continued, his voice filled with earnest emotion, “My heart yearns to be with you, to hold you close and share in your joy when you’re smiling. I want to be there in every moment, to wipe away your tears when you’re sad and to remove all the troubles from your life…”

Shehnaaz took a deep breath, savoring the scent of him that filled her senses. She kept her eyes closed, completely immersed in the moment. Sidharth’s hand slid around her neck, his grip tender yet firm, as though he never wanted to let go, even in his wildest dreams. His other arm, draped around her, acted like a protective shawl, enveloping her in a cocoon of safety and love.

As Sidharth pressed his face deeper into the crook of her neck, his stubble brushed gently against her jawline. The sensation of his possessive touch sent waves of warmth through her, his closeness igniting a heat that made her feel as if she was melting into him, like a candle consumed by its own flame.

“It drives me crazy, baby… but I wish to spend every waking and sleeping moment with you, capturing each precious second in its eternal, lovely form,” he confessed, his voice thick with raw emotion. His heartfelt words shook her to her core, resonating deeply because she felt the same overwhelming need for him.

Shehnaaz instinctively raised her arms, her hands reaching back to wrap around his neck. She pulled him closer, feeling his solid warmth against her delicate back. Her body pressed firmly into his chest, finding solace and strength in the embrace that was both protective and passionate.

A restless groan escaped Sidharth’s lips as Shehnaaz’s touch took him by surprise. His hands gently wrapped around her waist, a gesture of togetherness and connection. Shehnaaz instinctively pulled him closer and the moment felt deeply memorable for both of them. They both wished they could somehow capture this special instant for the future.

Shehnaaz turned her face towards him and placed a soft kiss on his cheek. Their eyes met, locking into a gaze that seemed to last forever. Sidharth’s voice was filled with heartfelt emotion. “Every time I have to say goodbye to you, a deep sadness envelops me. I can’t help but yearn for the next moment I’ll see you again.”

He then placed a loving kiss at the corner below her ear.. The feeling of his lips against her skin made her shiver slightly. “Jana…” she murmured, feeling a mix of emotions she couldn’t quite place.

Sidharth continued, his voice tender and sincere. “All my past hurts and pains seem to disappear in the warmth of your love, mera bachha. I feel stronger knowing that you will always be there to support me.”

Shehnaaz was deeply moved by his words. The sight of this strong man expressing his vulnerability and seeking comfort from her was both touching and significant. It was a moment of profound trust, and she felt honored by his openness.

Resting her head on his chest, Shehnaaz closed her eyes, listening to the steady beat of his heart. The rhythm was soothing, and she felt a deep sense of peace and belonging.

Sidharth, sensing her calm, kissed her forehead gently and repeatedly, his touches reassuring and tender. His hands continued to caress her waist softly, each touch a promise of his unwavering support and love.

Shehnaaz pressed a tender kiss to Sidharth’s heart, and a warm smile spread across his lips. He gently kissed her hair as she nestled closer into him, his voice soft and filled with affection. “I want you to be happy in every moment of your life because your happiness is my happiness.”

Shehnaaz was deeply moved by his selfless love. It was hard for her to comprehend how someone could care so unconditionally. She smiled as she nestled into the crook of his neck, her lips brushing lightly against his nape. Sidharth sighed in contentment, his fingers gently caressing her scalp, savoring the intimate connection.

“Mera bhi… same to same…” Shehnaaz whispered into his neck, her voice a blend of sincerity and shyness. She playfully slapped his chest in embarrassment, hearing him giggle. Sidharth’s heart swelled with affection, and he pulled her closer, hiding his bebu in his arms.

He gently lifted her chin, drawing her slightly away to look at him. Shehnaaz chuckled at his amused expression and playfully pouted her lips, as if sending him a flying kiss. Her endearing gesture only deepened Sidharth’s smile, and he pressed a soft, tender kiss to her pouted lips.

As he pulled back, Shehnaaz’s lips remained in a cute pout, her eyes expectant. Sidharth, with a playful glint in his eyes, reached into his pocket and retrieved the diamond ring he had gifted her on their wedding day.

Seeing the ring again, Shehnaaz’s eyes brimmed with tears of joy. Her emotions overwhelmed her, and she looked at Sidharth with a mixture of gratitude and love. He smiled warmly, understanding the depth of her feelings. Gently, he rubbed his thumb across her cheek, wiping away the tears that had formed.

He shook his head gently, his eyes conveying a silent plea for her not to cry. Shehnaaz, with a nod as innocent as a child’s, took in his unspoken request.

Her heart raced as Sidharth carefully slid the diamond ring onto her finger. Each delicate motion was filled with reverence and affection. He pressed his lips to her finger, showering it with countless tender kisses, his eyes closed tightly, as if trying to memorize every moment.

For Shehnaaz, each kiss felt like a sacred promise. The ring was more than just a piece of jewelry—it was a symbol of Sidharth’s unwavering commitment. With every kiss, he was reaffirming his vows:

A promise to protect her from all harm, A promise to never let her shed another tear, A promise to fill her life with joy and laughter, A promise to guard her from any negativity, A promise to cherish and care for her until his last breath, and beyond, A promise to love her with all his heart.

“Never remove this again,” he said, his voice filled with sincerity as he placed a soft kiss on her palm. Shehnaaz, with tear-filled eyes, nodded in agreement.

Reaching out, she gently ran her fingers through his hair, a soothing gesture that brought him back to the present. As Sidharth opened his eyes, a tender smile played on his lips. He gently released her fingers from his lips, allowing his gaze to wander from the ring on her finger to her expressive hazel eyes, which were full of longing.

He cupped her face with his strong, protective hands, and she placed her palms over his, a gesture of mutual comfort and connection. “Tell them our love story..” he said, his voice gentle but firm, “is different because it has a man like Sidharth—someone who was practical, who kept his emotions in check, and who didn’t believe in the conventional idea of love. And then there’s a little princess like Shehnaaz, pure and unaware of what love truly was.”

Shehnaaz giggled softly as she nestled into Sidharth’s embrace. His words were filled with a warmth that made her heart swell with affection. “But then magic happened,” he continued, his voice tender and full of wonder. “These two different souls crossed paths and fell in love the very moment they met. It was never about asking or answering; it was simply about their instant connection, their immediate sense of belonging. From the very first moment, they knew they were meant for each other.”

Shehnaaz’s hold on him tightened, feeling a deep sense of pride and affection. His words, filled with maturity and insight, made her admire him even more. She wanted to be the kind of person who would make him proud, just as he was her idol. His strength and wisdom were qualities she cherished deeply.

As he brushed his fingers lovingly through her hair, Sidharth continued with sincerity, “Tell them it was never our intention to keep things hidden. It was just the way things unfolded for us. Our relationship was a journey of its own, one that developed naturally over time. We’re proud of what we have together as partners, and there’s no need to conceal it.”

Shehnaaz nodded, her sweet smile a testament to her agreement and understanding. Gently, she placed a kiss on his chest, where her head was nestled comfortably. The gesture was a silent affirmation of her love and her appreciation for his open-heartedness. In that moment, surrounded by his warmth and reassurance, she felt a profound sense of contentment and connection.
